Wow. The White Mantle are desperate.

I'm guessing it's just a little glitch in the selection of players; for some reason, pets are in there too. If you want to replicate it, just grab some R/- or -/Rs with pets all around, and keep trying. It's the... D'Alessio Seaboard quest, I think. Stupid confusing names.
